It is designed to help fresh grads embark on a journey of self-discovery during their travel experiences, leading to a positive impact on their identity consolidation, while also promoting the learning of effective financial management and savings through the support of GXS.

Introduction

This project explores the financial challenges faced by minority groups in Singapore, even in a landscape where financial services are widely accessible. While focusing on a specific target audience, it also aims to redefine finance for everyone, fostering innovation and inclusivity.

Why is our target audience underserved?

Identity consolidation is the process of integrating different aspects of one's self, including personal valuesbeliefs, and roles, to form a strong sense of identity.

It typically occurs during significant life transitions, such as entering the workforce.

Secondary Research

5 benefits that will positively influence the dimensions of identity consolidation.

Escape/Relaxation

they get to take a break from study demands and associated stress

Social Fulfilment

research shows that graduation tourists tend to seek social interactions to strengthen relationships with friends or other reference groups

they get to strengthen the relationship with their peers by making memories together and sharing the same experiences

Exploration

they get to experience new and surprising things 

Self-Efficacy Improvement

they will get cognitive experiences that contribute to their intellectual and personal development

they were able to refine their skills through cognitive experiences

The survey highlighted a prevalent want among graduating students: a keen desire to embark on meaningful travel adventures post-graduation.

However, a disconcerting revelation emerged — despite this priority, a significant number felt inadequately equipped for the profound transition into adulthood.

Most fresh graduates are uncertain about their future and wants a stable income. However, to have this stable income, one needs to sacrifice their leisure time including any thoughts on travelling. Even though, travelling were something that each of them thought off at the back of their mind but it wasn’t their priority.

Opportunities

How can we empower fresh graduates to navigate adulthood confidently and rediscover their identity within a dynamic ecosystem of support? Can immersive travel experiences aid in this journey as they embark on a role-play?

Approach

Introducing the "Rite Of Passage,” a meticulously designed programme structured to guide fresh graduates through the roles and behaviours of the new life stage they are entering. This experience serves as a compass, assisting them in overcoming the unique challenges encountered during the transition period.

This programme seamlessly blends this journey with effective financial management and savings, all within a dynamic support ecosystem. Key stakeholders in this ecosystem include GXS as the primary banking platform, Workaway facilitates homestays and meals, and hosts teach new skills and guide fresh graduates during their rite of passage.

Upon reaching a tier, users have an option to engage in an eligibility quiz to choose their destination based on their preferred role and theme for the trip or keep saving up to the next tier to unlock more travel destinations.

Comprehensive overview, checklists, and reviews for each destination, creating a holistic and informed decision-making process. After confirming their chosen destination, the app seamlessly guides users through the registration process on Workaway.

To facilitate effective financial management while travelling, GxploreS introduces a travel spend limit feature. Users who successfully complete the five checklists and share their experiences using the in-app camera earn an increased savings interest rate, capped at 3.00%.
